The Bio-rad Trans-Blot SD semi-dry transfer cell is a convenient and cost-effective option for blotting without the need for a buffer tank or gel cassettes. It allows for quick transfers in as little as 15-60 minutes, with minimal buffer requirements to save money. The transfer cell has the capacity to transfer up to four Mini-PROTEAN prefab or handcast gels, or three Criterion gels. It features a one-step locking system for easy and quick adjustment. The use of platinum-coated titanium anode plate electrodes and stainless steel cathode plate electrodes ensures consistent and reliable transfers, as well as durability and long life. Unlike other semi-dry blotters, this transfer cell does not require additional plastic templates to prevent electrode short circuits.
