The BLItz BLI system is a compact platform that measures biomolecular interactions in real time using biolayer interferometry (BLI). The system works by detecting changes in optical interference patterns that occur when molecules bind to a biosensor surface.
Unlike traditional methods that require fluorescent or radioactive labels, BLItz enables label-free analysis, preserving natural binding behavior. Thanks to the “dip-and-read” format, users can immerse disposable biosensors directly into microvolume samples, making the system highly accessible for routine protein studies. Key applications are:
Analysis of protein-protein interactions
Binding studies between antibodies and antigens
Kinetic and affinity measurements (association/dissociation rates)
Screening of binding specificity
Concentration and quality controls in purified samples
The system is generally regarded as an entry-level BLI platform, ideal for laboratories performing real-time kinetic analysis for the first time. Technical specifications (typical)
