The Waters 2489 UV/Visible (UV/Vis) Detector is a sensitive and versatile UV/Vis absorption detector for HPLC and UHPLC systems. The detector combines a powerful deuterium lamp with an optimized optical system, low noise, and high data rates for reliable and reproducible chromatographic analyses.

The 2489 can measure simultaneously at two user-selected wavelengths. This allows multiple analytes to be monitored during a single analysis and enables the acquisition of both qualitative and quantitative information. The detector is suitable for both routine HPLC analyses and applications where low detection limits and high sensitivity are important.

The patented TaperSlit™ flow cell ensures efficient light transmission through the flow cell and contributes to low background noise. The standard analytical flow cell has an optical path length of 10 mm, a cell volume of 16.3 µL, and a maximum pressure of 1000 psi. Technical specifications
