Description

Phenomenex Kinetex C18 HPLC Column – 150 × 4.6 mm

The Phenomenex Kinetex C18 is a high-performance HPLC/UHPLC column based on advanced Core-Shell technology. Thanks to the core-shell particles, this column offers high chromatographic efficiency and excellent separation, with capabilities to shorten analysis time, improve resolution, and reduce solvent consumption.

The C18 phase is a versatile reversed-phase stationary phase and is suitable for a wide range of HPLC applications. Kinetex C18 columns are designed to improve existing HPLC methods and can deliver significant performance improvements compared to conventional fully porous columns. Phenomenex positions Kinetex Core-Shell technology for, among other things, higher productivity, better resolution, and reproducible results across different LC systems and laboratories.

The 150 × 4.6 mm version is a widely used analytical column size for HPLC. Phenomenex lists this configuration as, among other things, a suitable dimension for C18 Core-Shell applications. Technical specifications

Key benefits
Core-Shell technology for high chromatographic efficiency.

Improved resolution and peak shape compared to many conventional fully porous columns.

Possibility of shorter analysis times.

Potentially lower solvent consumption.

Suitable for existing HPLC methods and method optimization.

Reproducible performance between different LC systems and laboratories.

Wide applicability for reversed-phase HPLC.

150 × 4.6 mm is a commonly used analytical column configuration. For example, Phenomenex has shown that a Kinetex C18 2.6 µm 150 × 4.6 mm column can offer higher efficiency and shorter analysis time than traditional 5 µm columns with a length of 250 mm.

Dimensions

Column dimensions: 150 mm length × 4.6 mm inner diameter

This refers to the chromatographic column size and not necessarily the total physical length including end fittings.

Suitable for: HPLC, UHPLC, reversed-phase chromatography, analytical laboratories, pharmaceutical analysis, R&D, and method development.
