The AB Library Builder System simplifies next-generation sequencing by providing a semi-automated solution for DNA fragment library preparation for the SOLiD 4 System and 5500 Series Genetic Analysis Systems. The AB Library Builder System is designed to increase throughput and reduce labor associated with library preparation for exome and targeted resequencing applications. The workflow can be simplified even further by using the system for upstream DNA purification. Automated—reducing hands-on time by 50%.

The AB Library Builder System addresses low- to medium-throughput needs for DNA fragment libraries for exome and targeted resequencing applications. It can process up to 13 samples at a time, and a second run can yield up to 26 libraries in a day. In the time needed to prepare 8 libraries manually, the AB Library Builder System can prepare 13 libraries.

Reagents kits for DNA fragment library creation using the AB Library Builder are available for purchase separately. These kits require minimal set-up and come with ready to use reagent cartridges for the creation of up to 13 DNA fragment libraries. Oligos, Barcode adaptors, and Agilent AMPure XP beads are also purchased separately. The AB Library Builder System provides full walk-away automation of the post-shearing and pre-nick translation portion of the DNA fragment library workflow for exome and targeted resequencing.
